Employees may utilise weaponry to defend their person or a colleague if any one of the following conditions is met:
No combative is present (in the same room, or has responded they are en route)
You are being fired upon explicitly by a hostile force.
If you are in a combat zone whilst alarms are active.
Weaponry may not be used by non-comabtives in the presence of a director+. Weaponry may not be used in defence if the attacker has not visibly shown proof that they are armed.
Employees may not utilise firearms if conditions in the Self-Defence article are not met:

Employees may not utilize any weaponry to cause non-lethal harm to other employees unless they are being explicitly attacked by a rogue staff member. This does not apply if there are combatives in the same room OR there is a director+ present.

3rd offence - Class III
Employees may not utilize any weaponry to cause lethal harm to other employees without due reason.
Sanctions:
1st offence - Class II
2nd offence - Class III
Employees may not:
(a) Repeatedly engage in violations of general etiquette
(b) Participate willingly in rule-breaking activities
(c) Use tools and weaponry to pose a legitimate risk to those around them or vandalise property owned by the Initiative.

2nd offence - Class II
3rd offence - Class II/III
Employees may not:
(a) Reject legal orders issued by an authoritative* or combative* body, or attempt to evade any of these bodies when explicitly ordered to halt or cease an action.
(b) Encourage or promote violations of any rule clause in any context eg. encouraging an armed employee to randomly discharge their weapon without due cause.
* Combative bodies may exercise power to remove disorderly persons, secure an area or to turn a person away from a restricted zone.
* Authoritative bodies include IAD, MCS, OM+.

Employees may not intentionally enter or attempt to force entry to areas in which they do not have normal access* to, including but not limited to executive offices, research wings or central containment zones.
*Normal access is defined as being openable with their Security Privilege, Department Privilege or otherwise provided permission.

3rd offence - Class II/III
Employees may not pick up firearms or other tools dropped by any departmental entity if not authorized or instructed to do so. In the event where picking up is necessary to prevent it being obtained by hostile forces, employees are required to declare and/or surrender the item to the closest available Combative personnel.

Employees may not possess items they do not normally have access to. This includes departmental tools, supporter benefits and exclusive items. Items provided by OM+ or developers are exempt from this clause.

Employees may not intentionally or attempt to negatively affect the duties of authoritative, combative or civilian departments in any fashion, including using weaponry or assets to disrupt events. Please note that if a person's action s do not result in another person's duty being hindered, no punishment can be issued (besides reckless endangerment if applicable).

Employees may not intentionally neglect their duty whilst on-department, including but not limited to being present at guarding locations, actively assisting combatives medically or to neglect their own and other's safety.

Employees may not attempt to abuse any given loophole in Title 5, Article 1 in any fashion, or possess knowledge of such a loophole. If a loophole is discovered, personnel are encouraged to contact IAD or a member of the Executive Council for review and fixing.

IAD personnel do not have to issue the punishments listed for each specific violation. The sanctions are just a general guide. Further punishments beyond Class III may only be issued for circumstances involving large numbers of repeat offences or cases where a large number of violations are conducted at once.
Department reprimands will be given in addition to these when applicable.
